Rooted in community and built on tradition, Southwest Music Fest has grown into one of Platteville’s signature summer celebrations—bringing together live music, local businesses, great food, and hometown spirit year after year.

Southwest Music Fest began in 2011 as a community-driven Hometown Festival Hog Roast organized by a passionate group of local residents. Originally held at The Annex, the event quickly became a favorite summer tradition, bringing people together through food, music, and community connection.

Growing Into a Downtown Tradition

In 2016, the Platteville Regional Chamber assumed leadership of the festival and expanded the event into a larger music-focused celebration throughout Historic Second Street. The vision was simple: create an unforgettable experience that supports downtown businesses while showcasing the energy and culture of the Platteville community.
